In a calm space, a long rope hangs from the ceiling. Two restless dancers move up and down and across the floor effortlessly. Their never-ending fluid movements unfold Silhouette Letters, a beautifully bleak duet which explores the impact of a father’s absence infused with a deep sense of longing. The work, which delves into the complex father-child relationship through vivid childhood memories, draws from the choreographer’s personal experience. In this search for connection and need for reconciliation, the Silhouette Letters lays a question: how does absence shape one’s identity?
