Do Birds Dream of Flying?

By Fabla Collective/Inan Sven Du Swami & Mojca Špik (SI)
17:00 – at Centro Internacional das Artes (outside)

Do Birds Dream of Flying? is a performance in which two artists explore themes of balance, freedom, and limitation through movement and an originally designed set piece. A rotating and swinging ladder opens up an aerial space usually inaccessible to the human body. Their interaction with the ladder, which demands precision, coordination, and a keen sense of balance, creates a poetic dialogue between risk and responsibility, while reflecting on how to navigate curiosity and care for the world around us.

Biography:

Fabla Collective is a performance art collective led by award-winning artists Inan Sven Du Swami and Mojca Špik. Their artistic research merges circus, dance, and physical theatre, focusing on the creation of kinetic set pieces that challenge how bodies move and interact with objects. Embracing limits as opportunities, they explore a dialogue between movement and mechanism, choreography and engineering, poetry and structure.
