BPM–Beats per Millennium takes you to a dance floor with echoes from the past and present. A solo performance shaped by the stories of people who experienced Romania’s party and clubbing scenes across decades, the dancer’s movements emerge as traces of club dances reimagined, distorted, and reshaped into new expressions that flicker between eras, styles, and emotional states.
The dance floor becomes a meeting ground for exchanging experiences and dissolving barriers, where the body acts as both receptor and amplifier.
Romanian dance artist Simona Dabija explores hybrid embodiment where mechanical and organic movement coexist. A core member of Tangaj Collective, she has performed in nine artistic productions of the company and holds BA and MA degrees in Choreography from UNATC Bucharest. In 2024, she premiered her solo “BPM—Beats per Millennium” and co-created “Original Spaces/Legalized Gestures”. She received the CNDB Award in 2020.
