Work in Progress captures the story of two women, whose lives revolve around only one thing: their work. In a semi-fictional universe, we observe how the lack of motivation and purpose they feel influences their inner lives and compels them to find ways to withstand the constant pressure. From denial to outrage, from routine to non-conformity, the performers strive to put up a fight, in a world that seems to efficiently metabolise their revolt. Sensitive, funny, ironic, serious, the performance is a moving dialogue about the place work occupies in our society.
Camelia Neagoe is a choreographer based in Bucharest, working across various formats to explore contemporary themes that reflect aspects of daily life. Her most recent performances aim to offer a critical perspective on the sociopolitical mechanisms that shape our cultural landscape.
